During this 10-week class, I worked with 3 other talented designers to brainstorm, research, and prototype a gamified learning experience in the emerging opportunity area of XR Technology in museum spaces. Our idea originated within the broad spectrum of tourism, and we took inspiration from current habits surrounding local tourism. After going out in the real world, observing and asking questions, we realized that we wanted to focus on museums, and on a larger scale. We were able to affinitize over 500 data points into “How Might We” statements and verified our leading ideas with professionals in tech industries as well as museums fields. In a rapidly changing socio-technical world, we want to provide a novel and engaging way for people to interact with art, history, and science. Utilizing XR Technology in museum spaces allows us to coexist with physical media in ways we’ve never been able to before, thus making it a personal, and memorable, experience.
